🗓️ Day 1: Arrival & Wetland Wonders – Nyabarongo Wetlands

  • Highlights: Papyrus Gonolek, African Jacana, White-winged Warbler
  • Meet your guide in Kigali and head straight to Nyabarongo Wetlands, a birding hotspot just outside the city.
  • Enjoy a relaxed walk along the wetlands with spotting scopes and binoculars.
  • Capture stunning photos of water-associated birds in their natural habitat.

🗓️ Day 2: Highland Endemics – Nyungwe National Park

  • Highlights: Rwenzori Turaco, Grauer’s Swamp Warbler, Red-collared Mountain Babbler
  • Early transfer to Nyungwe National Park, one of Africa's oldest rainforests and a haven for endemic birds.
  • Guided forest trail birding through the canopy walk and mountain trails.
  • Packed lunch in the field to maximize birding time.

🗓️ Day 3: Marsh Magic – Rugezi Wetland & Departure

  • Highlights: Grey Crowned Crane, Carruthers’s Cisticola, Yellow-billed Duck
  • Early morning drive to Rugezi Marsh, a Ramsar site known for its rare wetland species.
  • Leisurely morning birdwatching with chances to photograph cranes in the mist.
  • Return to Kigali for afternoon or evening departures.
