Remy Mbonigaba Jean de Dieu was born and raised in the foothills of Volcanoes National Park. With an early passion for wildlife and conservation, his journey in tourism began in 2011 at high school. He has since expanded his experience, including being certified as a site guide for the Congo Nile Divide Trail, volunteering in VNP for gorilla trekking and monkey research. He is a passionate field birder and guide with a very good knowledge of birds and wildlife, as well as the social and cultural life of Rwanda. He is a Graduate of IPRC Kitabi in Wildlife Tourism and Management and is completing a BSc in Tourism and Business Management at University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) Rubavu. As a research fellow at the Centre of Excellence in Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management at the University of Rwanda and a field researcher, he actively supports fieldworks for different organizations. He is a Trainer of the Tourism Modules at Kivu Hills Academy school in tourism-related courses, contributing to the growth of tourism in Rwanda. He leads Planet Birdsong Foundation in Rwanda, a project committed to bird song recording and education through citizen science and community connections. He founded Green Planet Explorer Rwanda to present his guiding and tour design skills to the world.
